Brunel has partnered with a major industrial operation in North Queensland to source a skilled Structural Engineer to ensure the strength, safety, and longevity of critical infrastructure.

This is your opportunity to work on large-scale structural assets, including wharf infrastructure, heavy-duty conveyors, and high-capacity load-out systems-all while enjoying the coastal lifestyle of the Mackay/Bowen region.

About this role

  • Conduct structural integrity assessments, risk analysis, and asset life-cycle planning for major infrastructure.
  • Lead preventative maintenance and upgrade projects to optimize safety and performance.
  • Provide technical guidance on structural repairs, modifications, and new developments.
  • Ensure compliance with AS/NZS standards, WHS, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, reliability, and civil engineers to enhance overall asset performance.
  • Engage with contractors and stakeholders to oversee project execution and long-term site improvements.

Is this you?

  • Willingness to relocate to the Mackay/Bowen region and work on-site.
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (RPEQ preferred or willingness to obtain).
  • 3+ years of structural engineering experience in heavy industry, mining, ports, or bulk materials handling.
  • Proven ability to assess, design, and implement structural solutions for large industrial assets.
  • Strong understanding of structural integrity, load dynamics, and corrosion protection strategies.
  • Hands-on approach with a problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
