About this role

  • Lead the civil engineering aspects of mine site relocation projects, ensuring the successful completion of capital projects.
  • Design and oversee the construction of bulk earthworks and haul roads, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met within the specified timelines and budget.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure project specifications and safety standards are adhered to.
  • Manage project documentation, including design reports, construction plans, and progress reports.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on capital projects, bulk earthworks, and haul road design and construction.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale projects, preferably within the mining industry.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in civil engineering.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
