Introduction

Seeking an experienced Operations Geologist for a 12-month contract in Brisbane. Key responsibilities include real-time data monitoring, subsurface support, wellsite data interpretation, reporting, and coordination with field teams and contractors to ensure efficient and safe well delivery operations.

About this role

The Operations Geologist reports to the Subsurface Well Delivery Manager and is accountable for the following:

  • Provide well delivery and subsurface expertise, including remote real-time monitoring and interpretation of wellsite data, selection of ECP set depth, calling total depth, supervision of wireline logging operations, well data acquisition and data processing for swell packer placement.
  • Delivering internal and regulatory reporting pre- and post- well delivery (e.g. Well Proposals, NOI, NOC & Well Completion Reports)
  • Regular communication, collaboration and liaising with field-based team e.g. DSVs/OCRs.
  • Support for QGC logging and data acquisition services contracts, including KPIs and Business Performance Reviews and day-to-day management of contractor service requirements (e.g. logging crews and equipment).
  • Responsible for supporting Emergency Response activities if/when required.

Dimension:

  • Day to day interface with multiple Operations Geologists and Petrophysicists as part of SSWD team
  • Provide Operations Geology expertise in support of development drilling and abandonment activities
  • The Operations Geologist will be rostered to work out of office hours, particularly to cover weekends and holidays as required
  • The Operations Geologist may be required to work onsite and provide specialist wellsite geology coverage if/when required
  • The Operations Geologist is expected to be on call 24 hours when rostered to do so, whilst following relevant HSSE policies

Is this you?

  • Geoscience degree and/or relevant qualifications
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and decision makers to achieve an outcome
  • Demonstrated strong inter-personal skills (networking, communication & emotional intelligence)
  • Demonstrated strong planning and organisational skills
  • Ability and desire to contribute to the development of a team culture (x-matrix)
  • Strength in coaching and mentoring; and a tested capacity to influence and deliver through others
  • Demonstrated CSG experience and familiarity with QGC work practices would be advantageous
