About this role

  • Perform general mechanical fitting and basic bolting work
  • Address breakdowns and carry out overhauls on heat exchangers
  • Assist with high-pressure water jetting tasks
  • Complete all onsite tasks related to heater overhauls
  • Provide fire watching support for welding operations
  • Actively participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and adhere to safe work practices
  • Travel between two sites as required to complete tasks

Requirements

  • Recognized mechanical trade certificate in Australia or Skills Assessment
  • Current High Risk Work License endorsed - EWP, Rigging, Dogging, Telehandler, non-slewing crane - Highly desirable
  • White Card
  • Alcoa inducted is highly regarded
  • Have to be located south of the river or within an hour of Wagerup
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Previous maintenance experience in a large mining operation involving refinery or processing plant
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to fault find assets in high pressure situations
  • Experience in computer-based maintenance systems – SAP desirable
  • Previous experience with Permit, Lock-out and Isolation systems and procedures
  • Full Working Rights in Australia
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
