Introduction

Seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our clients Sustaining Capital project Team. You'll be a key player in a high-performing team, supporting our contractor partners in planning, coordinating, and executing construction packages. Your leadership and construction expertise will be critical in driving safe, timely, and efficient project outcomes.

This role is site based based on a 8:6 roster.

About this role

Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with the project delivery team, including the Project Lead, Construction Advisors, Contractors, and Safety and Quality Advisors, to ensure seamless execution.

* Monitor project progress, schedule adherence, costs, and contractor scope completion on a daily basis.

* Ensure compliance with technical standards, quality, project schedules, and HSE management systems.

* Review and compile quality documentation from contractors and advisors and develop timely responses to TQs/RFIs.

* Manage interactions with site stakeholders, such as shut planning and construction workgroups, while supporting safety initiatives for project delivery.

* Oversee the safe execution of major shutdowns, aligning them with operational needs and minimising disruptions.

* Collaborate with the commissioning and operational readiness teams during plant and equipment start-up.


Requirements

Key Requirments:

* Degree in Mechanical Engineering with extensive project engineering experience in mining, brownfield, and shutdown environments.

* Proven track record in managing complex projects, budget oversight, and achieving commercial outcomes.

* Strong commitment to safety and a proactive approach to fostering an inclusive team culture.

* Expertise in managing external consultants, contractors, and suppliers, with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

* Attention to detail, with a goal-oriented and self-starting attitude.
