Introduction

Brunel Energy is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Designer to join a tier-one mining business on a 12-month contract in Perth. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and engineering electrical systems, including HV, LV, and protection systems, for mining operations.

About this role

Responsibilites:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for mining operations, including HV, LV, and protection systems for substations.
  • Produce detailed drawings, such as single-line diagrams, schematics, termination plans, and general arrangement layouts.
  • Perform 3D modelling of substations and switchrooms to ensure accurate design representation.Develop cable routing and layout designs to optimise installation efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure designs meet technical requirements and safety standards.
  • Review and ensure compliance with local and international electrical design standards.
  • Support the preparation of project documentation and contribute to project planning and scheduling.
  • Provide technical expertise and support throughout the construction and commissioning phases.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders to ensure design consistency and project success.

Is this you?

Requirements:

* Electrical Drafting/Engineering/Trade qualification

* Drafting experience

* Microstation 2D or similar

* Strong knowledge of drafting standards and processes

* Design experience with Switchrooms, Control Panels, Control systems essential
