Introduction

Brunel Energy is seeking a highly motivated Civil Designer to join a tier one mining business on a 6-month contract in Perth. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and engineering civil infrastructure for mining operations, with a focus on road design, earthworks, and drainage solutions.

About this role

Responsibities:

  • Design and develop civil infrastructure solutions, including roads, earthworks, and drainage systems for mining operations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, geologists, and project managers to integrate design requirements into cohesive, high-quality plans.
  • Ensure designs meet local and international standards, focusing on safety, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Manage GIS and data to support the creation of accurate design models and construction drawings.
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance during the construction phase, ensuring design implementation is accurate.
  • Review and optimise designs for sustainability, cost-efficiency, and long-term performance.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and contribute to project meetings, presenting design options and progress updates.

Is this you?

Requirements:

  • Experience in civil design, specifically within the mining sector.
  • Proven expertise in designing road infrastructure, earthworks, drainage, and other civil infrastructure for mining operations.
  • Strong proficiency in industry-standard design software, such as 12d Modelling, Microstation, and AutoCAD.
  • Solid experience in preparing and reviewing construction documents, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective communication and project success.
  • Ability to manage project timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing data and GIS systems for civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to project challenges and design optimisations.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to evolving project requirements and timelines.
