The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join the Houston, Texas team, providing support to their LNG facility in Calcasieu Pass. In this role, you will report to the Manager of Process Engineering and be responsible for supporting process design reviews and operational functions to meet project objectives, working closely with EPC contractors and external consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of the Ready for Operations (RFO) schedule to transition the facility from the EPC phase to full operations.
  • Provide daily troubleshooting assistance to plant production personnel, utilizing principles of fluid flow, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and hydrocarbon process chemistry.
  • Develop and utilize Process Monitoring tools to enhance production efficiency and performance.
  • Create detailed operations and engineering procedures for both existing and new operating modes of the facility.
  • Offer process engineering support during plant shutdowns and turnarounds.
  • Conduct economic evaluations of equipment alternatives, focusing on availability, reliability, and life cycle costs.
  • Lead process improvement studies, performance optimizations, and safety evaluations, including incident investigations and technical audits.
  • Develop and update process simulations and models for key plant processes.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Qualifications:

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (required).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent CEng certification (preferred).

Experience:

  • 5-10 years of engineering or operations experience
  • Recent LNG experience is required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in process engineering, including design, economic evaluations, detailed engineering, plant startup, operations, & troubleshooting.
  • Experience with commissioning, startup, and performance testing at project sites is a plus.
  • Expertise in key LNG liquefaction equipment and systems such as Feed Gas and Pre-Treatment, Liquefaction and Refrigeration, and Storage/BOG management systems.
  • Additional Strong knowledge of major design codes and standards.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, HYSYS, Aspen Plus, & other discipline-specific software.
  • Must possess or be eligible to maintain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
