Introduction

We are currently seeking a skilled Automotive Software Engineer to join our team. As an Automotive Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing embedded software solutions for automotive applications.

What are you going to do 

  • Designs, develops, and tests systems, subsystems, and components within a user story or feature, while assessing their impact on the overall architecture.
  • Ensures designs support both manual and automated testing.
  • Actively participates in sprint planning and retrospectives as part of agile workflows.
  • Identifies and addresses challenges, collaborating with the scrum master when needed.
  • Works closely with team members, providing support and sharing knowledge to achieve common objectives.
  • Follows the definition of done, reduces integration-related build failures, and takes prompt action when issues arise.
  • Continuously improves processes by introducing industry-leading software development practices in the automotive domain.
  • Engages in bi-annual hackathons to foster innovation.
  • Reports to the Supervisor of Platform Development – Software Engineering as an Embedded Software Engineer.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline—our primary interest is in software engineers. Candidates with backgrounds in mechanical or mechatronics engineering will not be considered. If you believe your education is equivalent, please outline the software engineering courses you have completed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, conflict resolution, managing dependencies, accountability, and self-management.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Experience with development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum.
  • Openness to developing software in model-based environments like Simulink.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with a willingness to learn Dutch.
  • A GitHub portfolio (or similar), showcasing projects that you can discuss during the interview—these do not need to be automotive-related and can include any type of software development, such as mobile apps or backend services.
  • Above all, a strong desire to learn and the perseverance to overcome challenges.
