Introduction

We are currently hiring a Refrigerator Technician for our client located in Stanwood, WA, USA. Our client specializes in plant-based food manufacturing, utilizing state-of-the-art production technologies and extensive product development experience. Their mission is to revolutionize the food industry with plant-based solutions that are better for consumers and the planet.

What are you going to do 

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and other technical documents.
  • Conduct regular checks, identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
  • Utilize power tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment for installation, assembly, and disassembly.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Install refrigeration or air conditioning components (motors, controls, gauges, valves, etc.).
  • Measure, cut, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment as required.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and overhaul HVAC systems.
  • Start-up systems, test for leaks, check regulators, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Repair and replace parts for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems.
  • Assist with other facilities and maintenance work and projects within the plant.
  • Address equipment issues, escalate as necessary and provide recommendations.
  • Follow Food Safety, HACCP, Quality, and Operational procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to NMF's Quality Management System and set an example for Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 3+ years experience in HVAC, refrigeration or equivalent role required.
  • Previous experience working within food manufacturing or related required.
  • Previous millwright, electrical or general maintenance experience considered an asset.
  • Valid state refrigeration license/certificate required.
  • Completion of HVAC or refrigeration coursework and/or training required.
  • Forklift training considered a bonus.
  • Intermediate proficiency of Microsoft Office suite required (MS Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook).
  • Strong time management and organization skills required.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to engage with internal and external teams.
  • Team-oriented and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues promptly.
  • High attention to detail, meticulous, and able to maintain a high level of quality.
  • Adaptable, resourceful and a willingness to learn.
