Introduction

  • Major Projects involve the development of new offshore platforms bridge linked to the existing facilities or remotely connected with subsea lines.
  • Projects are executed across several international sites and will require complex interfaces with other entities of COMPANY.
  • QC Superintendent will be based in Contractor’s premises in Qatar during onshore fabrication and thereafter in offshore Al Shaheen field during Offshore brownfield and Hook-up campaigns.
  • He/She is expected to have offshore visits as and when necessary for the project.
  • Possibility of multiple worldwide missions and/or relocations to follow-up offshore installation campaign in Qatar.

What are you going to do 

  • To promote & comply with applicable safety instructions and other COMPANY HSE procedures in all activities.
  • To carry out work in compliance with COMPANY values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed COMPANY priorities and objectives, COMPANY standards and procedures and good industry practices.
  • To treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality.
  • To review and approved the Quality Documentation applicable to yard construction issued by the Contractor and Subcontractors.
  • To implement the QC activities based on the criticality assessment.
  • Coordinate the QC activities during construction at Contractor yard and during Offshore Hook-up.
  • Participate in the establishment and implementation of a suitable Audit Program to cover Contractor and Subcontractors yards main critical processes.
  • Manage all Company quality inspections related to material, welding, NDT and coating/painting activities.
  • Review and approved the material certificates.
  • Ensure that material, welding and traceability system is maintained throughout the fabrication process.
  • Ensure that there is no backlog for inspection performance, reporting and data base update.
  • Review and approved the different inspection reports issued by the Contractor.
  • Witness inspection activities based on the Quality Control Plan (ITP).
  • Ensure that Contractor is performing dimensional control activity during fit-up of structural element and validate the dimensional control reports.
  • Ensure that construction verification activities by the Certifying Authority are in line with Contract requirement.
  • Issue Non-Conformance reports or review Contractor Non-Conformance reports and validate dispositions. Intervene as necessary where warranted.
  • Issue or participate in the issuance of CMS Deviation applicable to yard Quality Control Activity.
  • Be the leader in the implementation of the change management process (DEV/TQ/CON) at construction yard level.
  • Implement continual improvement processes, (Reporting, KPI, Lessons Learned, Close Out Report).
  • Participate in the weekly meeting and in the issuance of weekly report and KPIs.
  • In coordination with Head Projects QA/QC, participate in Contractor investigations of significant Quality failures.
  • Ensure proper root cause analysis of Contractor Quality failures is undertaken, and conclusions are reached, and corrective actions undertaken.
  • Review and validate manufacturing records books.
  • At the end of the mission, issue REX report and Lesson Learned to capture feedback regarding QC issues met during Fabrication and Hook-Up.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor / Diploma level formal education in Engineering discipline.
  • Certified in Welding Inspection - AWS SCWI, CSWIP Grade 3.2 or EWIP/IWIP-C or COMPANY approved equivalent.
  • Certified in NDE Methods and Coating (FROSIO / NACE) is preferred
  • Professional Experience (number of years): 15 years of experience associated with Quality control supervision and coordination of quality activities within Construction yard fabrication and Hook-up projects of offshore facilities (jacket, bridges, and topsides) in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • A good knowledge of NOC Standards, Total Energies GS standards and international codes/standards related to design, fabrication, and inspection.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in welding, material, corrosion and NDE.
  • Strong Knowledge in Topside and Jacket Fabrication and Exposure in T&I Activities
  • Good leadership skills and good communication skills.
  • Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
  • Be skilled in using computer programs for word processing, database management, spreadsheets and e-mail communications.
  • Familiar with Document Control System such as PRODOM/MANASA.
  • Familiar with Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities and tools such as ICAPS
  • H2S OPITO, CA-EBS and T-BOSIET trainings.
  • Language: Mandatory Spoken and Written skill in English
