Introduction

  • Provide Process Engineering subject matter expertise in Studies during FEED phase of the off-plot project.
  • Leads the process engineering discipline activities for the assigned project (greenfield and brownfield scope).
  • Ensures that technical requirements (e.g. basis of design, simulations, reports, studies project specifications, data sheets, etc.) developed during FEED fully comply with project requirements.
  • Provides Process Engineering direction, guidance and leadership to off plot project.
  • Develop fit-for-purpose process / technical engineering definition of the facilities.
  • Effectively collaborates and interfaces with Project team, Contractor, LNG stakeholders as required.
  • Provides oversight of the FEED Contractor team and timely review and approval of project deliverables within project budget and schedule.
  • Contribute to the development of Qatari employees.
  • Ensuring optimal delivery of Process engineering deliverables related to off plot involving close collaboration with Contractor/s.
  • Risk based evaluation of complex technical issues that may have significant commercial impacts to overall project execution.
  • Maintaining relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment on overall delivery of the project.
  • Interface with other Projects and existing facilities
  • Maintaining constructive and positive working relationship with FEED Contractor/s to ensure delivery of Engineering per plan and in accordance with project/s requirements.
  • Works effectively within established policies and procedures and participates in the further development of these to meet changing needs.
  • Demonstrates willingness to tackle a variety of tasks in response to evolving business needs.
  • Demonstrates effective communication, initiative, flexibility and an ability to induce collaboration.
  • Exhibits team leadership skills, integrity, interpersonal understanding, and self-confidence
  • Works in a dynamic team environment that has high expectations for flawless project execution in Safety, Quality, Cost and Schedule performance which requires the incumbent to demonstrate accuracy, initiative and the ability to multi-task as essential skills.

What are you going to do 

  • Advises the engineering manager in all Process Engineering discipline related matters. Shall be flexible and team orientated.
  • Supports in monitoring the Contractor’s progress on delivery of the required documents in the Process Engineering disciplines.
  • Review and approval of FEED contractor engineering deliverables / simulations / calculations, study reports and etc.
  • Performs process engineering studies, calculations, simulations, develop Basis of Design, Technical notes, adequacy assessment and etc. to support the project scope
  • Plans and schedules the Process engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with LNG operational policies, standards of business conduct and project management system.
  • Maintains close liaison with appropriate members of Engineering Teams and gains alignment with the Engineering Manager on project engineering needs, objectives, and requirements.
  • Leads/Participates in key design workshop and ensure that Process design recommendations are correctly implemented and actions closed (Design Review, Lessons Learned, Value Engineering, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, engineering criticality assessment, etc.).
  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts with respect to the disciplines involved in delivery of the Process Engineering and ensures endorsement of Process Technical deviations to Company specifications when required.
  • Ensures quality assurance of the Process engineering activities deliverables are in accordance with the approved project execution schedule.
  • General understanding of multi discipline engineering (mechanical/piping/instrumentation /etc.) and ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Contributes to the development of Tender package development and technical evaluation.
  • Accountable for being knowledgeable of lessons learned from previous projects with the same contractor and capturing and communicating Process engineering and design lessons learned for the current project.
  • Ensure compliance with management of change procedures for changes in the Contractors design or deviations from the Company directives
  • Mentor and contribute to the development of Qatari employees

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Chemical/Process engineering.
  • Broad and extensive knowledge of:
    • Oil and gas projects (greenfield and brownfield) Engineering
    • In-depth knowledge of Process engineering design
    • Design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
  • Minimum of Ten (10) years oil and gas process engineering work experience of which a minimum of Five (5 years) of relevant experience preferably in the similar position.
  • International project experience with Contractors or Client, involved in the project’s execution (i.e. greenfield and brownfield work).
  • Execute work in full compliance with LNG Standards of Business Conduct and LNG Project Management System
  • Strong organizational, management, and technical judgment skills
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
  • Make decisions in the general interest while pursuing business results
  • Prepare contingency plans for the unexpected (pro-active, forward-looking)
  • Strong organizational, coordination, planning, and interface skills
