ICN8 is an organization of 750 employees and home to Europe’s largest 8-inch cleanroom, primarily producing products for the automotive industry. The Maintenance Support & Gas and Chemical Systems section is part of the ICN8 wafer fabrication organization, responsible for all gas and chemical installations that supply the production tools, as well as the gas detection systems essential to operations.
Supports the Equipment and Process Engineering (EPE) organization by maintaining, initiating and implementing technical improvements and provide support to the manufacturing organization.
As Equipment Engineer you are responsible for tool performance with a special focus on the more complex problems. Besides problem analyzing and solving you will actively develop, enhance and introduce tool improvements on product quality, throughput, scrap-reduction, cost savings and reduction of repeaters. As an equipment engineer you will report to an engineering section manager and will support manufacturing and Process Sustaining & Enhancement (PSE).
The role involves maintaining and continuously improving equipment to meet client safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and on-site validations. You’ll proactively collaborate with manufacturing to address structural technical issues, material quality concerns, and bottlenecks, driving improvement actions through to successful implementation. Using your technical expertise, you’ll contribute to improvement projects, ensure the availability of production tools, initiate upgrades, support maintenance, and address safety issues. Additionally, you will coordinate quality-related escalations with customers and support manufacturing to maintain production flow.
The furnace engineering department is recognized for its focus on innovation and improvement, fostering a collaborative and high-energy work environment. The equipment and process engineering team, comprising 12 engineers, closely collaborates to support manufacturing and enhance product quality and throughput.
