Brunel is proud to partner with a leading upstream oil and gas company to recruit an experienced Engineering Manager.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team and drive technical excellence within offshore operations.

What are you going to do 

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance
  • Set strategic objectives and provide direction to engineering teams to ensure alignment with company goals and operational requirements.
  • Manage the allocation of resources, including personnel and budget, to optimize project delivery and operational support.

Technical Oversight:

  • Ensure the integrity and reliability of all engineering systems and equipment on offshore facilities, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of engineering solutions, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, modifications, and technical documentation.

Operational Support:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to offshore operations to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, supply chain, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions.
  • Implement and oversee predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance strategies.

Process Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to process safety management principles and practices across all engineering activities.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, industry standards, and company policies
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety reviews, and incident investigations as needed.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering practices, processes, and technologies.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
  • Monitor industry trends and advancements, integrating relevant innovations into engineering strategies.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in engineering roles within the oil and gas industry, and within a leadership position.
  • Extensive experience with offshore FPSO and fixed platform operations.
  • Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and industry standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools relevant to the oil and gas industry.
  • Qualified Engineer
