Introduction

Brunel is looking to hire an Electrical Engineer to work with a major oil and gas company in Gregory, TX on a long term contract.

What are you going to do

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Technical teams to support operations as the site's electrical technology expert.
Assist Maintenance in troubleshooting and equipment repairs, identify vulnerabilities, and propose cost-effective solutions.
Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and equipment reliability studies.
Contribute to maintenance and turnaround worklists based on equipment history and reliability analysis.
Develop maintenance procedures and training materials for technicians.
Provide technical guidance on new and replacement projects from front-end development through commissioning.
Design and specify electrical equipment, including motors, breakers, generators, and transformers (120V to 138kV).
Champion electrical equipment reliability initiatives and drive strategic improvements.
Conduct reliability analyses, develop long-term improvement plans, and evaluate new technologies.
Engage in broader engineering networks and external peer reviews, representing site-specific electrical interests.

Essential skills and knowledge

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within industrial or plant environments.
Proficiency in designing and specifying electrical equipment, including motors, breakers, generators, and transformers (120V to 138kV).
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex electrical issues.
Experience with reliability improvement initiatives and conducting reliability analyses.
Knowledge of maintenance procedures, training development, and turnaround planning.
Familiarity with incident investigations and root cause analysis techniques.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Experience in engaging with broader engineering networks and participating in peer reviews.
Knowledge of applicable industry standards, regulations, and best practices in electrical engineering.
