Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join a team of working on heavy mining equiptment for a leading iron ore company in the Pilbara. This is an exciting FIFO opportunity from Perth to contribute to the safety, reliability, and efficiency of mobile maitenance operations. Working on a 2:2 roster, you'll be part of a team maintaining effciency and safety of equiptment. The role is a 6-month contract with potential for extension based on operational needs and performance.

What are you going to do 

As a MEM Boilermakers in the Mobile Maintenance Department you will be focusing on fabrication and repairs for CAT and Liebherr equipment. This role involves performing bucket repairs and other maintenance tasks on various models, ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Duties:

  • Conduct fabrication, welding, and repairs on CAT and Liebherr mobile equipment, including bucket repairs and structural reinforcements
  • Assess equipment wear and perform diagnostics to determine necessary repairs
  • Weld and fabricate structural components to meet OEM and site standards
  • Use workshop machinery, such as plasma cutters, grinders, and hydraulic presses, while prioritising safety
  • Collaborate with other departments to minimise equipment downtime and maximize productivity
  • Follow strict health, safety, and environmental policies to maintain a safe working environment

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Trade Qualification as a Boilermaker/Welder or Fabricator
  • Experience working on CAT and Liebherr equipment, particularly with bucket and structural repairs
  • Proficient in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, and Arc) and various fabrication processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and follow repair specifications
  • Current Manual C-Class Driver's Licence (HR is preferred)
  • Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry tickets (preferred)
  • High Risk Work Licence with EWP, Forklift, and Dogging/Rigging endorsements (desirable)
  • Full Australian Working Rights
  • Proven experience in mining
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and report on maintenance activities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and zero harm
