Introduction

Brunel is working closely with a leading, integrated energy company is looking for an experienced Senior Project Development Manager to lead the development and execution of major energy projects. This role is critical in driving the company's energy transition strategy by overseeing the successful delivery of high-value projects and contributing to future growth and sustainability goals.

What are you going to do 

Key Responsibilities:

Project Development:

  • Lead and coordinate teams to execute complex power development projects.
  • Negotiate key contracts and manage project budgets.
  • Secure necessary permits and licenses for project completion.
  • Identify and manage risks, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Business Development:

  • Support the preparation of business cases for new power generation opportunities.
  • Manage due diligence for potential acquisitions.
  • Provide strategic advice on emerging energy technologies.

Growth Strategy:

  • Contribute to identifying new opportunities for generation development and investment.
  • Participate in evaluating emerging generation technologies.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Monitor project progress and financials.
  • Manage stakeholder communications and lead community consultations.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Qualifications & Experience:

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and understanding of energy markets.

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in the power industry, particularly in renewable energy project development.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects from concept to FID.
  • Manage the delivery of business cases for projects
  • Draft and manage development budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within budgetary constraints.
  • Extensive experience with NEM rules and project connection requirements.
  • Proven track record in managing the development process from concept to investment commitment.
