Introduction
Our client, a market leader in the mining industry, is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join their team on a 5-month contract. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a renowned organization committed to excellence in mining operations.
What are you going to do
The ideal candidates duties will be as follows -
- Conduct frequent inspections of pit slopes, waste dumps, and stockpile stability to ensure conformance.
- Implement and monitor slope monitoring instrumentation, including Radars, Auto prisms, in-ground monitoring instruments, VWPs, and standpipes.
- Provide expert geotechnical input into blast designs and bench conformance activities.
- Complete geotechnical reconciliation to block models, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain and update Geotechnical Hazard and slope monitoring programs.
- Engage regularly with site-based operational teams and technical specialists within the Mine Engineering and Geoscience teams.
