Brunel is seeking a skilled Well Engineer to join our client's rapidly growing team. This global leader specializes in the maintenance and decommissioning of storage and drilling wells across various sectors, including gas, oil, geothermal energy, and salt. As a Well Engineer, you'll play a critical role in developing and implementing workover and plug & abandonment programs. Your expertise will be key to identifying the safest and most efficient well shutdown strategies, ensuring the smooth and safe execution of operations. Key responsibilities include:

What are you going to do 

  • Contributing to after-action reviews for continuous improvement.
  • Creating detailed workover and abandonment plans.
  • Conducting market research to identify the latest innovative products and services.
  • Supporting the R&D/Innovation team in advancing proprietary technologies.
  • Offering expert advice on unexpected operational challenges.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Well Engineer or Supervisor in a major oil and gas company.
  • Comprehensive industry training with valid well control certification.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in plug & abandonment, including internal and annular remediation techniques.
  • Strong capabilities in cost control and operational efficiency enhancement.
