Introduction

  • Ensure Engineering Dossiers are delivered with a robust Structural engineering definition and fit for purpose design that can be procured, fabricated, transported, installed, and operated safely, meeting the requirements of International Standards, COMPANY standards, Project Basis of Design, and SOR.
  • Ensure assigned project tasks are well managed in accordance with COMPANY safety regulations, the quality compliance, the project execution plan and contractual requirements that include:
    • Thorough, efficient, and timely review of project Structural discipline documents, realization of potential derogations to the standards, and challenge the design to achieve an optimize and fit for purpose outcome.
    • Assisting to project studies and meetings related to the Structural discipline as per project approved gate levels and design maturity.
    • Identifying potential risks and scope changes, conducting initial impact assessment to provide detailed information to NLQ Engineering Coordinator.
  • Ensure efficient communication with all other COMPANY engineering and functional team members.

  • Ensure Technical/Engineering Dossier is delivered with a robust Structural engineering definition and fit for purpose design that can be procured, fabricated, transported, installed, and operated safely while meeting the requirements of International Standards, COMPANY standards, project Basis of Design, and SOR. Controlled
    • Ensure and coordinate the proper realization of the Structural design in compliance with International Standards, COMPANY Standards, project specifications and procedures, time schedule, required level of quality and safety.
    • Challenge EPC Contractors on the proposed design, oversee the development of the Structural design including equipment jacket design, weight control, seismic studies, load out, transportation and installation studies.
    • Ensure a regular and accurate weight and center of gravity (CoG) monitoring and reporting to NLQ Engineering Coordinator in order to guaranty protection of Company contingencies and to keep weight increase within the approved limits.
    • Promote field technical optimization/cost savings, ensuring first that they are compliant with the project schedule and the contracts, liaising with the NLQ Engineering Coordinator.
    • Promote alternatives for design in brownfield environment to reduce and to optimise the offshore installations weight & duration.
    • Identify Structural engineering technical decisions to be made. Define and manage clear way forward for these decisions to be made and report to NLQ Engineering Coordinator.
    • Work with weight control engineer and engineering team to ensure close weight monitoring and control of weight.
    • Contribute to the proper realization of the identification and specification of the LLI.
    • Ensure close coordination with other disciplines on all engineering, constructability and operational matters.
    • Ensure that relevant feedback/lesson learned from previous similar projects are considered in the design performance.
    • Assist in planning and preparation of Structural discipline kick-off meeting with EPC Contractor.
    • Support procurement engineering including Technical Bid Evaluations and vendor documents review, and assist in manufacture site visit.
    • Support fabrication and construction engineering on review of engineering documents, modification approval, non-conformity reviews and assist in closer of punch lists.
    • Support project during installation and hookup stage and review/approval work-pack, review of red-marks.
  • Ensure thorough, efficient, and timely review of project Structural discipline documents, realization of potential derogations to the standards, and challenge the design to achieve an optimize and fit for purpose outcome.
    • Ensure project documents related to the Structural discipline are reviewed and commented in a timely manner and in accordance with International Standards, COMPANY standards, project specification and contractual requirements.
    • Identify any optimization / improvement in the design dossier to be implemented in the early stage of detailed design, promote, and encourage submissions of value engineering proposals.
    • Promote fit for purpose design to reduce and to optimize planning and costs.
    • Coordinate and issue project response to contractors and vendors on engineering design clarifications and Technical Query Request (TQR).
    • Identify the protentional deviations to the COMPANY Standards to and assist in preparation of deviation package.
    • Consult E&C department to process Structural derogation requests and interface with relevant TRP (Technical Reference Person) to secure needed approvals.
    • Review of final project documentation including final dossiers and as-built drawings.
  • Assisting to project studies and meetings related to the Structural discipline as per project approved gate levels and design maturity.
    • Assist to define, follow up and evaluate the Structural discipline studies to be carried out by Contractors, ensure the studies completed as per approved project gate and maturity.
    • Assist in preparation and attend to project studies including model review, HAZID, HAZOP, constructability review, Project Reviews (PRs).
    • Provide technical answers and clarifications to internal project audit sessions (PR, HAZOP, HAZID, etc…).
    • Participate in weekly engineering meetings with EPC Contractor, and in specific ad hoc meetings as required by management.
    • Assist in preparation of engineering progress reports detailing Structural discipline progress across schedule, risks and technical issues to ensure accurate and timely information available to Package Management Team. Controlled

    • Identify potential engineering scope change related to Structural discipline, carry out initial technical assessment in order to provide accurate information to NLQ Engineering Coordinator.
    • Ensure efficient communication with all other COMPANY engineering and functional team members.
    • Ensure the design follows the approved SOR, Basis of Design and project & International standards, capture and manage any changes as per project change management plan.
    • Ensure smooth & close communication with NLQ Engineering coordinator as well as other Discipline Engineers to identify any possible issues or discrepancies in design and tackle accordingly.
    • Team spirit and pro-active work are expected in order to deliver fast track project lead by improvement and optimization.

Requirements

  • Qualification: Engineering degree in Civil/Structural engineering.
  • Experience: 5-10 years’ experience as Structure in Oil and Gas industry and offshore LQ accommodation platforms.
  • Extensive experience in structural engineering with relevant experience within the offshore oil and gas production industry and offshore LQ accommodation platforms.
  • Computer literate, especially in structural calculation software.
  • Strong leadership skills and good communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Familiar with International Code and Standards is a plus (including SOLAS, ABS, NORSOK, NFPA,….).
  • Language: fluent English,
  • Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
