Introduction

  • Lead the Structural Engineering activities for North Field Expansion Offshore Project, ensuring technical requirements (e.g. project specifications, data sheets, etc.) fully comply with project deliverables and standardised processes and to provide support to Offshore Engineering Manager ensuring all aspects are delivered to the highest standards.
  • Provide extensive knowledge and understanding on the requirements of ECPI, communicating and efficiently translating Company requirements and data into an efficient delivery from the contractor.
  • Collaborate across disciplines (including Process, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Pipeline, Jackets, Umbilicals, HSSE and Risk), and monitor the progress and delivery of the engineering sections of the workscope.

About this role

  • Ensure that the Contractor’s Structural Engineering for Topsides, Onshore Facilities (Offshore scope) Engineering, and Gas and MEG Pipeline designs comply with the Contract requirements including codes and standards. Provide guidance to the contractor to promote compliance.
  • Plan and schedule the Structural engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with operational policies, standards of business conduct and project management system.
  • Participate to key design workshop and ensure that Structural design recommendations are correctly implemented and actions closed before the end of EPCI (Lessons Learned, Value Engineering, HAZOP, 3D model reviews, engineering criticality assessment, etc.).
  • Supervises the Engineering interface between Structural of Topsides, Onshore Facilities (Offshore scope) and Pipeline engineering and the following teams: Operations, Drilling, Well Management, the Jacket, the pipelines from the topsides perspective, the Onshore Project Team.
  • Supports Offshore Engineering Manager in monitoring the contractor’s progress on delivery of the required documents in the Structural Eng of Topsides and Pipeline disciplines.
  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts with respect the disciplines involved in delivery of the Structural Eng related to Topsides and Pipelines Engineering, and ensures endorsement of Process Technical deviations to Company specifications when required.
  • Ensure compliance with management of change procedures for changes in the contractors design or deviations from the company directives.
  • Liaise with vendors, sub-vendors and sub-contractors regarding structural engineering concerns as required. Determines acceptability of equipment, techniques and methods. Checks Structural / Weight Control standards, material requisitions, and checks the final purchase orders are in accordance with the Structural / Weight Control specifications.
  • Participates in inspections at fabrication yards and witnesses installation & acceptances tests.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent, however any qualification, technical or knowledge requirements may be waived through relevant work experience.
  • 10+ years’ of relevant experience as Structural Lead, in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry and having a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations.
  • Previous knowledge of Brownfield engineering and execution required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT.
  • A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications
  • Good knowledge of electrical, instrument, telecom, piping and mechanical equipment
