Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee the delivery of sustaining capital projects from initiation to completion, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing relationships and aligning project objectives with client expectations.
  • Planning & Scheduling: Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones to ensure timely delivery.
  • Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting to meet profitability targets.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources to meet project demands.
  • Change Management: Identify, assess, and implement project scope changes, minimizing impact on timelines and costs.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to maintain seamless execution.
  • Contract Administration: Manage contracts and ensure compliance with terms, conditions, and deliverables.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all projects adhere to safety standards, industry regulations, and best practices.

Is this you?

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (essential).
  • Experience: 10+ years in project management, preferably within engineering consultancies and the mining sector.
  • Sustaining Capital Expertise: Proven track record managing sustaining capital projects, including multi-client environments.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong capabilities in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of mechanical systems, mining operations, and regulatory standards.
  • Commercial Acumen: Experience with contract administration, cost control, and change management processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) and engineering software.
  • Adaptability: Ability to manage complex projects with tight deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Safety Focus: Commitment to upholding safety standards and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
