Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Energy Analyst to join Australia's largest energy infrastructure business on a permanent, full-time basis in Brisbane, QLD.

About this role

This role is critical in managing gas supply, transportation, storage, and power purchase agreements to support a diverse portfolio of conventional and renewable energy assets. Working within a fast-paced power commercial operations team, you will be responsible for daily execution of contractual and regulatory obligations, as well as optimising energy management strategies.

Oversee daily gas management, including nominations for Gas Transportation Agreements (GTAs) and Gas Supply Agreements (GSAs).
Ensure contractual and regulatory compliance across power generation assets.
Optimise gas transportation and supply nominations to reduce variable costs.
Develop and maintain forecasting models for power station demand, gas usage, solar, and wind production.
Monitor market conditions, including price fluctuations, demand shifts, and weather impacts.
Provide commercial and contract management support, ensuring accurate execution of agreements.
Assist in developing and enhancing systems and processes to manage APA's power purchase and gas agreements.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth operations and market alignment.

Is this you?

Proven experience in trading, commercial operations, and contract management within the energy sector.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assimilate and interpret complex data.
Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Economics, Engineering, Commerce, Finance, or equivalent experience.
Ability to work shift hours, including weekends and public holidays, supporting power asset operations.
Commercially focused, with the ability to identify and capitalise on market opportunities.
Exceptional communication skills to engage with key stakeholders across multiple divisions.
