About this role

Your day-to-day work:

  • For each test, you will be responsible for the following activities (where applicable), with guidance and advice from our experienced team members:
  • Evaluating the test requirement and refining it together with the design team
  • Creation of a test concept
  • Detailed design of the test and measurement setup
  • Setting up the test setup, including coordination of production and purchasing
  • Planning the test execution, incl. test sequence and risk assessment
  • Execution of the test
  • Post-processing the data and reporting on the results
  • Development of complex test stands and setups and coordination of our support teams (software, CAD, technicians)
  • Preparation of technical documentation for your test setups and results
  • Supporting the design team in the detailed definition of test requirements
  • Feedback your findings and opinions to the design team for product improvement
  • Ensure a safe working environment in the lab
  • Constantly learn new things about our test articles and the way we test them - and pass them on to your team members
  • Work on ad hoc projects or tasks

Is this you?

  • University degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering (M.Sc/M.Eng preferred)
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in aerospace or automotive development programs, preferably in mechanical testing or systems integration
  • Ability to find creative solutions to complex problems in various engineering disciplines under time and cost constraints
  • Basic knowledge of metrology (force, displacement, temperature, etc.) and data acquisition systems is required (NI or Dewesoft preferred)
  • Good computational skills are required
  • Basic knowledge of data analysis and processing is required
  • Basic knowledge of standard mechanical testing principles is required
  • Basic knowledge of environmental testing aspects is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of drive systems and standard testing procedures is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of composite structures is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of electrical systems (drive+motor/drivetrain) is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge in the development of Labview programs for acquisition and automation is an advantage
  • Experience in fixture design with a focus on manufacturability is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of a CAD system is a plus (Siemens NX preferred)
