Role Summary

The Quality Inspector is the focal point inspection activities from receipt to in-process and final release of product managed by Subsea Services.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Inspection of Subsea equipment, ensuring that all items are in compliance with the Baker Hughes and customer requirements
  • Complete and verify inspection activities at all stages of the process from receipt to in-process and final release (visual, dimensional, hardness, etc)
  • Witness and verification of acceptance testing. Reviews the results of such tests for compliance with requirements
  • Creates, maintains and records/reports for inspection activities
  • Identifies, reports and quarantines non-conforming product
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, sourcing, service shops, and quality to drive excellence in product quality
  • Assist with production of reports, manufacturers databooks and certificates of conformance suitable for presentation to the customer
  • Assist with review and approve Qualified Vendor Quality Plans (QMP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and Completed Quality Certificates (e.g. CoC, NDT, Coating, etc)
  • Assist with preparation and submission of additional quality reports as required
  • Assist with tracking and management of NC product
  • Assist with management of M&TE calibration
  • Support and promote regulatory compliance of QMS.
  • Ensure safe practices are used in compliance with all governmental regulations
  • Ensures that all aspects of Quality are maintained in line with the company Quality Policy
  • Complete additional quality responsibilities as allocated

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Metal &/or Engineering Trade Certificate
  • Additional Formal Quality Qualifications desirable (e.g. NDT, Welding, Coating etc)
  • Min. 5 years industry &/or Inspection experience
  • Detailed knowledge of inspection and metrology techniques and processes
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of current industry standards
  • Detailed knowledge of requirements associated with the control of monitoring and measuring devices.
  • Experienced and familiar with the requirements of formal Quality Management Systems and standards, such as ISO 9001:2008 and API Q1/Q2/6A
  • Ability to handle multiple issues / priorities while working towards agreed schedules and deadlines
