Introduction

Brunel is looking to hire a Planner/Scheduler to work with a major Oil and Gas company in Houston, TX on a long term contract.

About this role

Tasks and Responsibilities:

* Demonstrates that safety is the top priority in all planning and scheduling activities.

* Participates in planning with Core/Work Teams.

* Plans and schedules routine maintenance work as required.

* Works with the Planner to develop schedules, cost estimates, and equipment planning for routine work to be completed during turnaround windows.

* Develops complex job plans and resource plans in collaboration with the Scheduler, Execution Lead, and Operations teams across all disciplines.

* Identifies and monitors critical and sub-critical paths for major events.

* Utilizes advanced functions of planning and estimating tools and educates field personnel on lookahead schedules to ensure timely work progression.

* Provides input to the maintenance work contracting/procurement strategy and ensures alignment with the plan.

* Resolves scheduling issues such as negative float, out-of-sequence updates, resource overloads, scope changes, and progress validation.

* Develops complete job plans with materials, resources, and timelines.

* Contributes to material of construction selection and management.

* Plans, estimates, tracks, and schedules Field Order Changes (FCOs).

* Applies planning logic, including lead, lag, critical path, and milestones.

* Assesses work contingencies and their impact on schedules, coordinating activities between teams to address any contingencies.

Is this you?

Skills and Qualifications:

* Previous experience in a similar or closely related position.

* Bachelor's degree in engineering or an applicable discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear recommendations to management.

* Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent priority changes.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office and selected scheduling and planning software.

* Demonstrates leadership skills in work team meetings to remove barriers and guide action items and cost profiles to meet work plans and cost estimates.
