Introduction

On behalf of Chevron, we are seeking a skilled P&A Engineer to join their Wells team in Perth. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in well plug and abandonment (P&A) operations, complemented by experience in drilling engineering, well intervention, or completions.

This office-based role includes occasional site visits and is offered as an initial 12-month contract. Experience with land-based projects is highly advantageous.

About this role

  • Plan and execute P&A activities in compliance with Chevron Standards, safety case, and environmental plan commitments.
  • Estimate costs, schedules, and risks associated with multi-year P&A programs.
  • Engage with Business Partners to manage well services contracts.
  • Research well history, define P&A procedures, and implement with team support.
  • Identify and implement industry-leading P&A technologies to improve efficiencies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for P&A programs.
  • Provide well engineering support to field execution teams and operational leads.
  • Maintain accurate daily activity reports and records of well abandonment activities.

Is this you?

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (or equivalent) and Well Control certification (IADC or IWCF).
  • Extensive experience in the oil and gas industry in drilling, well intervention, or completion engineering roles.
  • Proven expertise in well P&A, drilling/workover rigs, cementing, slickline, and e-line operations.
  • Advantageous experience with coiled tubing intervention.
  • A background in land-based projects is beneficial.
