Introduction

We are seeking a skilled Mining Engineer to join our client in their high performing technical services team. In this role, you will focus on maximizing coal recovery through short term and long term mine planning and scheduling.

Requirements

  • Enhance processes within technical and operational departments.
  • Prepare and deliver development and production schedules.
  • Communicate plans and equipment interactions to the operations team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on mine plan inputs and reviews on project plans for civil, environmental and mining.
  • Haulage modelling and optimisation.
  • Produce mine designs for drill & blast as well as the mobile fleet of excavators, draglines, dozers and trucks.
  • Monitor and evaluate mining operations, recommending improvements.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 2 – 3 years proven experience in mine planning and operations.
  • Proficiency in software and tools such as Deswik, Vulcan, Spry, Surpac etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills being able to influence site leadership.
  • Knowledge of current legislative and environmental regulations.
  • Commitment to safety and proactive risk management.
