Introduction

Our client, a market leader in the mining industry, is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join their team on a 5-month contract. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a renowned organization committed to excellence in mining operations.

About this role

The ideal candidates duties will be as follows -

  • Conduct frequent inspections of pit slopes, waste dumps, and stockpile stability to ensure conformance.

  • Implement and monitor slope monitoring instrumentation, including Radars, Auto prisms, in-ground monitoring instruments, VWPs, and standpipes.

  • Provide expert geotechnical input into blast designs and bench conformance activities.

  • Complete geotechnical reconciliation to block models, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  • Maintain and update Geotechnical Hazard and slope monitoring programs.

  • Engage regularly with site-based operational teams and technical specialists within the Mine Engineering and Geoscience teams.

Requirements
