Introduction

Our client, a market leader in the mining industry, is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join their team on a 5-month contract. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a renowned organization committed to excellence in mining operations.

About this role

The ideal candidates duties will be as follows -

Conduct frequent inspections of pit slopes, waste dumps, and stockpile stability to ensure conformance.

Implement and monitor slope monitoring instrumentation, including Radars, Auto prisms, in-ground monitoring instruments, VWPs, and standpipes.

Provide expert geotechnical input into blast designs and bench conformance activities.

Complete geotechnical reconciliation to block models, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Maintain and update Geotechnical Hazard and slope monitoring programs.

Engage regularly with site-based operational teams and technical specialists within the Mine Engineering and Geoscience teams.

Requirements

What we are looking for -

Proven experience in geotechnical engineering within the mining industry.

Strong understanding of slope stability and monitoring techniques.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
