Introduction

  • Marine Vessel Lead is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operations of marine units during project activities execution.
  • This role involves overseeing the compliance of marine activities with international regulations, company standards, and industry best practices.
  • Must be able to execute work both Office, Yard and Offshore as needed including rotational assignments as required.
  • Interfaces with various project teams and departments on resolving related issues that require effective communication, initiative, flexibility and an ability to induce collaboration.
  • Manage the training of employees and ensure they are up to date, and all equipment is maintained to a high standard.
  • Leads all Installation requirements of the Project, to ensure the technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule.
  • Pipelay cable, lay, Load-outs, Subsea Structure Installation, Topsides Lifts, Shore Pull, Diving Operations, Riser Installation, Marine Operations, Vessel Inspections

About this role

  • Act as Offshore Company Vessel Marine Representative on day to day responsibility for managing the offshore works various marine units on behalf of to ensure the technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget, schedule, to the correct quality level and ensure technical interfaces with Project PMT, Site PMT, MWS and contractors are managed effectively.
  • Focal point at site, for implementing safety leadership and safe execution of the work and assist the Construction Lead in executing the Project scope.
  • Attend Hazid / Risk Assessment / project technical review session as instructed with CONTRACTOR/SUB-CONTRACTOR.
  • Inspect and audit all marine vessels, including vessel suitability for work scope(s), involved in the different works and liaise with Contractor’s Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS). Assess the performance of marine units and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide training and guidance to vessel crews on safety procedures and regulatory and company requirements
  • Verify operational status of marine unit equipment, vessels and personnel on a day-to-day basis involved in the field works performed.
  • Support external interfaces with RLIC, other operators and schedule and arrange technical support to shareholders as requested.

Requirements

  • Master Mariner, Chief Engineer
  • 10+ years of marine experience – primarily Offshore with onshore Operational/ Management experience.
  • Broad and extensive knowledge of marine operations.
  • Knowledge of Dynamic Positioning Systems & Operations, DP FMEA Analysis, DP FMEA Proving Trials, Annual DP Trials, ASOG/CAM.
  • Experienced in managing Marine Assurance & Compliance processes, following corporate requirements and international standards.
  • Knowledgeable in International Maritime Regulations, Codes and Standards.
  • Experience within the Middle East region is advantageous.
  • Previous Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) and Marine Consultancy experience is advantageous (Preferably OVID accreditation).
  • A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT
  • Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications
  • Ability to work on or be based on a platform or vessel.
  • Extensive experience in a supervisory role
