Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Technician to join a leading mining operation in the Pilbara on a 6-month contract. This role is FIFO from Perth, offering the flexibility of an 8:6 or 2:2 roster, and is ideal for a skilled professional passionate about environmental compliance, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

About this role

As an Environmental Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting environmental compliance, monitoring, and reporting activities across site operations. You will work closely with operational teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, mitigate environmental risks, and drive best-practice sustainability initiatives.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct environmental monitoring, sampling, and inspections across site operations
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, approvals, and company policies
  • Assist with water, dust, and waste management programs
  • Support rehabilitation and land management activities
  • Collect and analyse environmental data, preparing detailed reports
  • Identify potential environmental risks and provide recommendations for mitigation
  • Assist in incident investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Provide environmental awareness training to site personnel
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely reporting to regulatory bodies

Is this you?

  • Diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related field
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the mining or heavy industry sector
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and reporting requirements in WA
  • Experience with water sampling, dust monitoring, and waste management practices
  • Familiarity with GIS, environmental databases, and data analysis tools (desirable)
  • Ability to work independently in a remote mining environment
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience
  • Australian Working Rights
  • WA Manual Driver's Licence
  • 4WD competency or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to comeplete a pre-employment medical
  • Ability to provide a police clearance
