Introduction

  • Provides Company leadership to ensure that the Project’s requirements for all engineering deliverables are fully executed by the Contractors per project schedule and quality requirements.
  • Responsible for the engineering input to all Tender package and Requests for Proposals and timely completion of all technical bid evaluations
  • Provides leadership to the Project Team in all aspects of personal and team behaviors
  • Ensures alignment with LNG on management of change and Shareholders on Technical Committee on technical matters
  • Provides mentoring to Qatari National Developees
  • This role requires strong leadership to drive the contractor to efficiently execute the Engineering scope of work.
  • There are brownfield elements to this scope which will require interfacing and alignment with OPCO.
  • Provides visible safety leadership through active participation in the Compression Project Safety Program
  • Provide Company stewardship of the Contractors’ activities for all engineering disciplines: process, structural, piping, mechanical, machinery, instrumentation and control, safety systems, telecoms, electrical, materials of construction, 3D model development, digital project delivery and digitalization and completion of HSE reviews such as Hazops, QRA, Safety Integrity Level reviews.
  • Responsibility includes ensuring timely decisions are taken to ensure engineering progress while ensuring adherence to project specifications, international codes and standards and good engineering practices.
  • Responsible for setting criticality levels on equipment and materials which will drive the level of inspection by Company Contractors.
  • Measurement and reporting of progress
  • Responsible for the engineering input for the procurement of Long Lead Items and all Contractor procurement equipment and material including preparation of specifications, bid evaluations, bid tabulations and bid recommendations.

About this role

  • Responsible for ensuring that the design of the facilities meets project specifications, industry codes and standards and good engineering practices
  • Responsible for Project Management System deliverables such as: Design Basis Memorandum, Design Risk Assessment, Hazop, Engineering Surveillance Plan, Value Engineering, application of Lessons Learned, Management of Change process
  • Provide necessary leadership in support of the PMT contributing to the 5 principles for LNG Management System: people driven, risk based, process oriented, asset focused and performance led
  • Application of lessons learned into the design as applicable
  • Mentors and fosters the professional development of direct reports
  • Works in a highly visible project environment with large capital expenditures and significant schedule execution pressures
  • Works in a dynamic environment that has high expectations for flawless project execution in safety, quality, cost and schedule performance which requires the incumbent to demonstrate accuracy initiative and the ability to multi-task as essential skills
  • Well established awareness of policies and procedures with high expectations for business controls compliance and to further develop controls to meet changing needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • 20+ years of experience in discipline with at least 10 years demonstrated leadership in engineering in offshore mega projects.
  • Experience with large (20+ kMT) offshore projects with float over is preferred.
  • Experience with contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry
  • Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with people from variety of cultural backgrounds
  • Excellent written and oral English skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning and coordination skills.
  • Strong technical, prioritization and management skills.
  • Strong communication, influencing and interface skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Sharepoint Etc.
