Introduction

Brunel is looking to hire an Electrical Engineer to work with a major oil and gas company in Gregory, TX on a long term contract.

About this role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Technical teams to support operations as the site's electrical technology expert.
  • Assist Maintenance in troubleshooting and equipment repairs, identify vulnerabilities, and propose cost-effective solutions.
  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and equipment reliability studies.
  • Contribute to maintenance and turnaround worklists based on equipment history and reliability analysis.
  • Develop maintenance procedures and training materials for technicians.
  • Provide technical guidance on new and replacement projects from front-end development through commissioning.
  • Design and specify electrical equipment, including motors, breakers, generators, and transformers (120V to 138kV).
  • Champion electrical equipment reliability initiatives and drive strategic improvements.
  • Conduct reliability analyses, develop long-term improvement plans, and evaluate new technologies.
  • Engage in broader engineering networks and external peer reviews, representing site-specific electrical interests.

Is this you?

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within industrial or plant environments.
  • Proficiency in designing and specifying electrical equipment, including motors, breakers, generators, and transformers (120V to 138kV).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex electrical issues.
  • Experience with reliability improvement initiatives and conducting reliability analyses.
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures, training development, and turnaround planning.
  • Familiarity with incident investigations and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in engaging with broader engineering networks and participating in peer reviews.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards, regulations, and best practices in electrical engineering.
