Introduction

  • Study and develop conceptual designs, prepare detailed engineering solutions, plan, monitor and coordinate all assigned modifications (projects) with project team for a wide range of tasks related to discipline scope.
  • Act as a key focal point for inhouse/subcontracted engineering.
  • Review of engineering studies conducted in line with defined requirements, industry best practices and contractual agreements.

About this role

  • Managed the Pre-FEED, FEED Studies, detailed design of HVAC Systems for onshore/offshore marine, oil & gas- greenfield/brownfield facilities, as per design basis, project specifications and standards.
  • Created engineering deliverables such as HVAC calculations, P&ID, D&IDs, HVAC equipment specifications, Data Sheets, Operation Sequence Philosophy, SDRLs, MRs. …. Etc.
  • Reviewing building services documentation (drawings, calculations, and specifications) throughout the design process and contributing to content and direction. Estimating costs for heating and cooling systems and with detailed budget estimates.
  • Preparation/ Compilation of material take- off based on drawings, data- sheets, basic design, standards etc. for retrofits jobs of HVAC including package units, central split units air cooled/ water cooled chillers, FCUs, AHUs.
  • Equipment selection based on the design/requirements, quantity take-off, bill of quantities and documentation.
  • Heat Load Calculation, Head Loss Calculations, and External Static Pressure Calculations following ASHRAE Standards.
  • Duct designing using the Equal Friction Method or Static Regain Method following SMACNA standards.
  • Pipe designing, and Pump Head / Head Loss calculation.
  • Examining specifications, plans and materials of HVAC installations, check for compliance with SAES, SAEP, ASHRAE, SMACNA.
  • Consults with representatives of Process Section, Maintenance, Inspection, Production, Safety
  • And Environment to ensure that designs meet the objectives
  • Prepares detailed specification, data sheets and compiles documents for tendering.
  • Writes and handles equipment purchase requisitions in accordance with codes and the company specifications.
  • Makes technical evaluations of incoming quotations from bidders and checks same for completeness of scope and compliance with specifications. Assist the buyer.
  • Reviews drawings, documents, and inspection & test procedures from the sellers.
  • Ensures correct level of accuracy and quality of presentation, that all engineering documents
  • Contain details of related facilities and inter-connecting details.
  • Prepare studies, design sketches and drawings of various facilities based on modification requests, design calculations, field measurements, codes and standards.
  • Capable to Provides technical support for construction during construction phase for carrying out any modifications or solving any engineering issues and follow up the commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Makes the required calculations on computer/by hand.
  • Assist in inspection during testing and evaluate test results of equipment.
  • Carries out all relevant administrative tasks.
  • Control changes and report deviations to the project management team.
  • Execute project close-out activities and communicate lessons learned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in discipline Engineering.
  • Minimum Experience for discipline Engineer position:
  • Mechanical engineer with Minimum of 10 years of experience covering HVAC system design.
  • 8 years of experience in design/engineering in the field of Oil and Gas/Petrochemical industry.
  • Good knowledge of discipline design/engineering with sufficient experience in different discipline areas.
  • Minimum Experience for discipline Senior Engineer position:
  • 12 years of experience in design/engineering in the field of Oil and Gas/Petrochemical industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of discipline design/engineering with wide experience in multi-discipline areas.
  • Knowledge of rotating design/engineering.
  • Familiar with static equipment and piping systems.
  • Familiar with mechanical equipment package systems.
  • Specify packages and rotating equipment including compressors, blowers, turbines, pumps, combustion engines, transmissions, etc. in accordance with process data, company requirements, specifications and the Industrial/international Codes and Standards (API, ANSI, ASME, etc.).
  • Understanding equipment requirements connected to piping systems.
  • Prepares design sketches and drawings of various facilities based on modification requests, design calculations, field measurements, codes and standards.
  • Makes the required mechanical calculations on computer/by hand.
  • Assist in inspection during testing and evaluate test results of equipment.
