Introduction

Brunel is seeking a Site QA Specialist to support the development and implementation of our clients Quality Management Plan (QMP).

About this role

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the required quality plans, relevant procedures, and KPIs to ensure compliance of project specifications, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Review and approve Contractor documentation, which is not limited to their quality plans, ITPs, turnover packages, method statements, etc. to confirm compliance with Contract, Work Scope, Specifications, etc. requirements.
  • Monitor the implementation and execution of Contractor quality plans, to ensure they are executed in a controlled manner in accordance with the Contract requirements and quality standards:
    • Plan and conduct quality assurance activities (e.g., audits and surveillance)
    • Ensure that quality control functions, visual examination, witnessing, monitoring, and documentation occur as per project quality requirements and ITPs.
    • Ensure adequate management of equipment calibration and materials identification and traceability.
    • Support Construction to develop and coordinate the walkdown program, management and control of punch items, and handover of systems and subsystems.
    • Verify the completeness of Construction Release Packages and/or Turnover Packages per project requirements. Support Construction to manage progressive turnover requirements.
    • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-compliant work and respond (after consultation/input from respective discipline leads) to NCRs raised by Contractor.
    • Manage the processes to investigate, effectively action, and close out deviations, trends, non-conformances, corrective actions, or opportunities for improvement as applicable (internal and external).
  • Monitor, evaluate and regularly report on quality performance (KPIs).
  • Apply risk-based thinking to identify areas of risk and opportunity and collaborate with Project Team to develop appropriate action plans.
  • Work closely with the Construction team to ensure day-to-day quality activities are being executed in line with the Construction schedule / daily plan.
  • Interface, integrate, and collaborate with all relevant project partners including internal Owner-Operator, Engineering Service Providers, Contractors, etc. on quality related matters.
  • Support in capturing lessons learned from Projects to disseminate and/or implement actions as appropriate to transfer learning.
  • Support related Project governance and assurance activities.
  • Support training to project team on QA/QC procedures, standards, and best practices as required.

Is this you?

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in industrial, mining, or other relevant construction projects, and minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree or technical program in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Quality, Construction, or other related fields).
  • Experience in developing, documenting and implementing construction quality plans.
  • Experience in applying, and integrating with other project functions, quality management practices across the project life cycle from project set-up to turnover and close-out.
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction industry; understands specifications, construction industry codes, drawings, methods, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of construction project planning and sequencing and the ability to monitor project progress to ensure timely and effective implementation of site quality activities.
  • Strong skills in conducting Construction audit, surveillance, inspection, record keeping and report writing.
  • Ability to identify quality risks associated with construction.
  • Highly organized; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with Contractors, EPC/EPCM.
  • Experience working within an Owner's Organization is an asset.
  • Proficiency with standard software applications such as Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
