Introduction

Brunel is working on an iconic renewables porject and looking for a Senior Procurement Advisor to join a leading he client's team This role is critical in ensuring the effective management of procurement programs, particularly overseeing contractor procurement activities. The position focuses on governance, contract management, and strategic procurement planning, making it an ideal fit for professionals with extensive contract experience rather than a typical buying or purchasing role.

About this role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Principal Contractor Procurement Support:

    • Develop and manage a comprehensive Procurement Management Plan for key project packages.
    • Oversee the contractor procurement relationship, ensuring compliance with established procurement plans.
    • Monitor and report on the contractor's procurement schedule, identifying and implementing process improvements.
    • Conduct regular meetings with contractors to review progress and maintain meticulous records.
    • Provide oversight and governance of subcontracting activities, ensuring alignment with the head contract and minimizing risk exposure.
  • Direct Procurement Support:

    • Develop and manage contracts directly related to the project, including negotiating and executing contracts for goods, services, and works programs.
    • Draft and manage key procurement documents, including tender packs, evaluation tools, and supplier communications.
    • Ensure adherence to procurement timelines and maintain robust record-keeping throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Broader Procurement Team Contribution:

    • Provide guidance and support to the broader project team on procurement activities.
    • Collaborate on the implementation of procurement transformation initiatives.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within procurement processes and systems.
    • Develop detailed reporting tools to monitor and report on procurement progress and pipeline.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, contract management, commercial, engineering, legal, or project management.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain value drivers, with a focus on capital procurement.
  • Experience in managing large and complex civil or electrical contracts is a plus.
  • High level of expertise in contract drafting and management, including contract clarification registers and commercial terms.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships across different levels and functions.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
