Introduction

On behalf of our client, a leading energy operator, we are seeking for Senior Mechanical Engineer for a critical role supporting sustained operations at their world-class LNG facility in Darwin.

About this role

Operational Safety:

  • Conduct all activities safely, ensuring personnel welfare and asset protection.

Compliance & Reliability:

  • Safeguard technical integrity by managing mechanical equipment in alignment with safety case performance standards.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance tasks are executed, and performance monitoring programs are effective.
  • Troubleshoot failures and implement improvements for enhanced plant performance.
  • Ensure equipment is operated within limits to prevent failures.

Risk & Assurance:

  • Identify and manage risks associated with critical equipment and interfaces.
  • Develop and implement mitigation and assurance plans for mechanical risks.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide expertise on static mechanical equipment in operational LNG or power station environments.
  • Review and improve maintenance and operational strategies for mechanical and rotating equipment.
  • Support technical evaluations, vendor documentation, risk assessments, and root cause analyses.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide input into OPEX and CAPEX budgets.

Planning:

  • Contribute to budget cycles, maintenance planning, and shutdown processes.

Is this you?

Requirements:

  • Australian Full working rights
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Postgraduate qualifications advantageous).
  • Relevant of experience in Oil and Gas operations, with a strong focus on maintenance or integrity.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems in LNG or Combined Cycle Power Stations.
  • Familiarity with industry standards for mechanical systems and expertise in SIMOPS, HAZID, HAZOPS, and RCA.
