Introduction

About this role

  • Provide engineering support for the repair, overhaul, and troubleshooting of rotating equipment, including gas compressors, steam and gas turbines, pumps, and gearboxes.
  • Review Shutdown/Breakdown Reports and perform Root Cause Analysis.
  • Execute major planned maintenance on rotating equipment, including Recip compressors and gas engines.
  • Monitor the performance of major rotating equipment using Bentley Nevada System 1 and ensure operability, safety, maintainability, and reliability standards are met.
  • Lead the design, specification, and technical evaluation of rotating equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and OEM requirements.
  • Develop and update modifications, procedures, operational standards, and documentation for rotating machinery.
  • Conduct performance reviews and recommend solutions for reliability improvement, cost reduction, and extended overhaul intervals.
  • Oversee detailed designs, specifications, scopes of work, and technical reports related to rotating equipment.
  • Provide technical support to Maintenance and Operations teams, including on-site troubleshooting when required.
  • Continuously monitor unit performance to ensure it meets relevant performance standards.

Is this you?

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or similar.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) preferred but not required.
  • Relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, specialising in rotating equipment technical and operational support.
  • Extensive experience with repairs, overhaul, and maintenance of rotating equipment such as gas compressors, gas engines, steam turbines, pumps, and reciprocating compressors.
  • Previous experience in offshore/FPSO environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian and International standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with MAN gas compressors and Siemens turbines is advantageous.
  • Team player with a structured, systematic approach and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
