About this role

Engine Performance & vehicle integration elements have major impact on PACCAR’s products and is one of the major inputs when defining new engine concepts. A thorough understanding of the relevant engine performance & integration elements and of the technical requirements it brings to the engine concepts is of very high importance.

  • Develop thorough understanding of key Engine performance elements and customer expectations relevant to PACCAR’s products – e.g. o Fuel Economy, Emissions, diagnostics o Engine Performance (Startability, Heat Rejection, Torque and speed, NVH).
  • Investigate specific engine performance topics for various engine technologies o Simulations, data analysis, scope requests, etc.
  • Collaborate with Vehicle divisions to improve on the Engine & Vehicle integration aspects.
  • Understand technical impact of changing engine/vehicle HW, Regulatory changes, customer expectations.
  • Support Property Owners with investigations, Scope Requests, Failure investigations, etc.
  • Translate Customer requirement from Vehicle divisions into technical requirements.
  • Investigate and ensure traceability of property requirements.
  • Ownership and propagation of relevant Requirements in the Development Organization.
  • Investigate failure reports over engine property.

Requirements

  • Master Degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 Year Experience with Engine Performance Development and Testing of (heavy duty diesel) engine.
  • Good Understanding of key engine performance aspects: o Fuel Economy, Emissions, Engine startability, Engine cooling or Heat Rejection, Engine Torque/Speed Performance, Engine NVH, etc.
  • Good at Data analysis and Simulation (1D, 2D).
  • Good understanding of ‘Fuel economy & performance’ impact with Hybrid Engines.
