Introduction

  • The Pipeline Package Delivery Lead position requires solid technical and organizational experience with respect to CRA pipes manufacturing, and with the ability to solve problem, to identify the risks and to propose mitigations measures.
  • Responsible for Pipeline Package delivery in accordance with the Project schedule and the Project technical requirements.
  • The scope consists of the delivery of 110km of CRA pipes with different sizes (8”, 24” and 28”) and with large number of bends required for the risers fabrication.
  • To assist the novation to the Contractor of the CRA Pipes purchase orders placed by Company
  • To safely and efficiently supervise the activities executed by the mills and bends Suppliers in close relationship with the Contractor and the Project Team to ensure the highest level of quality and to secure the on time delivery for the offshore installation campaign.
  • To ensure that all procedures, design input, acceptance criteria, inspections are reviewed, approved and implemented in due time to support the delivery schedule
  • Prepare and provides routine verbal and written progress reports to the Head of Pipeline/Cable Delivery and Project Management team and closely monitor the progress performance of the mills and bend suppliers.
  • Any risk of delay and/or nonconformance shall be immediately reported to the Head of Pipeline/Cable Delivery and mitigations measures shall be proposed.
  • Project is part of a large Compression Development Program decided by and its Shareholders. This major project consists of the delivery of new facilities (5 new riser platforms, 1 wellhead platform, 110km of CRA pipelines, stalk on risers, cables and FO lines) and the tie-ins/modifications to a large number of existing platforms.
  • The position will be located in Germany but will require multiple and regular travel and missions within Europe to the plates mills, bends suppliers and other Pipe Mills.
  • CRA pipes have been identified as critical delivery items for project.
  • Close follow up and surveillance shall be implemented with the Mills and bends suppliers located in Europe.

About this role

  • Understanding & familiarity of the Project scope and the technical, quality & safety requirements including the applicable regulations, the Project specific Design Basis and philosophies.
  • Ensures full implementation of Project requirements and control deliverables in terms of engineering, quality, schedule & HSE related to the CRA pipes and bends.
  • Collaborate across disciplines (including Engineering, Installation, pre commissioning, commissioning, Quality, HSE Procurement and Planning, etc) to discuss & resolve technical and contractual issues.
  • Drives to obtain all necessary input required for the timely and complete progress of all activities from design, manufacturing, testing, deliveries, pre-commissioning & commissioning.
  • Manage the plate mills, bends suppliers and Pipe Mills to ensure that all procedures are available, approved and implemented across the manufacturing and testing activities.
  • Manage kick-off meetings & pre-Inspection meetings – ensuring they are completed as required & to start manufacturing activities.
  • Full understanding of the challenges associated to the CRA pipes and bends manufacturing scope including design, plate manufacturing, induction bending, qualification, welding, testing, inspections, handling, preservation.
  • Track Supplier manufacturing schedule & shall be familiar with the pre-requisite & durations of the specific and critical activities.
  • Identify any risks & provide preventive or mitigation actions to ensure contractual deliveries and technical requirements are met.
  • Close follow up of the interfaces between Company, Contractor and CRA pipes Suppliers. Any risk of delay and/or nonconformance shall be immediately reported to the Head of Pipeline/Cable Delivery and mitigations measures shall be proposed.
  • Monitors material acquisition including requisitioning, fabrication, testing and transportation of CRA pipes and bends.
  • Liaise as required with Company’s Technical Authorities (TA) and committees, and coordinate any management of change process (MOC) relating to CRA pipes and bends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pipeline Engineering is preferable. (Advanced degree is desirable.)
  • 15+ years of relevant experience as a Pipelines delivery package lead/manager
  • Good Engineering Practice applicable to the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Understanding of the Pipeline International Codes and Standards
  • Experience in working with Contractors and Suppliers.
  • In-depth knowledge of CRA pipes and bends manufacturing and understanding of the extensive testing and inspections requirements.
  • A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office & understanding of manufacturing scheduling software’s.
  • Excellent Planning, Execution & Tracking Skills
  • Excellent communication / written skills and ability to work with different disciplines and people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
  • High awareness of safe working practices associated with CRA pipes design, manufacturing and testing.
