Introduction

Brunel Papua New Guinea is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Foreman for an Underground Goldmine FIFO project in Papua New Guinea.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the daily operations on construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and within the allocated timeframes and budgets
  • Be the liaison between construction workers and supervisors
  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
  • Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
  • Supervise the use of resources machinery and equipment and labour
  • Supervise construction workers including subcontractors, ensuring they perform tasks accordingly and promptly
  • Plan daily work schedules, project tasks, and resource allocation to ensure project timelines are met
  • Review construction plans and specifications to maintain accuracy and quality of the work performed
  • Conduct regular site inspections to enforce adherence to safety and building regulations/procedures
  • Coordinate training of new team members on operational protocols and safety procedures
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders about progress and any issues onsite
  • Problem-solving on-site issues and making quick decisions to prevent project delays
  • Maintain detailed records of construction processes, worker attendance, and project costs

  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a similar role
  • Experience in underground mining construction is essential
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work on a 4/4 week FIFO roster
  • Strong focus on safety
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
