About this role

Investigate and optimize current and new Engine Concepts to meet future emission regulation and best-in-class performance.

As an Engine Development Engineer you will be part of a team which initiates and tests new Engine and Aftertreatment Concepts to meet Future Regulation.

Your tasks:

  • Development Engineer for new engine concepts within Concept Development.
  • Develop new engine concepts powered by Diesel, Hydrogen or Hybrid (Diesel + ePower).
  • Experience with defining new Engine Concepts in close cooperation with other experts Expert on Diesel and Powertrain Technology.
  • Involved in development and optimization of Diesel + Hybrid concepts.
  • Cooperate and align with other departments to optimize the powertrain.
  • Optimize and develop calibration and control strategies for future powertrains.
  • Coordination of engine test and simulation activities within.
  • Concept Development Documentation and analyses of test results, tool usage and possible improvements.
  • Collaboration in project teams.
  • Take initiative to constantly improve tools and processes.
  • As an Engine Development Engineer you will report to the Engineering Supervisor of the Concept Development Team..

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor degree in Automotive, Controls or Mechanical Engineering Expert in the field of (Diesel/Hybrid) Powertrain Development, Thermodynamics, Combustion and/or Control Engineering.
  • You have experience with: Defining and developing new engine concepts Data acquisition Data analyses of complex and large datasets PUMA / Concerto Matlab experience (modeling and scripting).

You have the following competences

  • Initiative, for pro active defining new concepts and technologies, define targets and requirements to meet future performance and emission targets.
  • Constantly developing and expanding knowledge in the field of combustion engines.
  • Strong analytical capacity to investigate complex datasets.
